With a vision of a more biodiverse future, we are embarking on transforming 24 ha of farmland into a mosaic of trees and shrubs to mimic natural regeneration. This will supercharge the recovery of our landscape from farmed agricultural land into a thriving wildlife-rich habitat. Our project, Sharpham Wild About Trees, funded by Plymouth and South Devon Community Forest, is about bringing trees and people together. We want our project to not only provide valuable nature and carbon sequestration for generations to come but also hold enriching experiences along the way. Across the next 2 years we plan to have planted nearly 6000 trees spread throughout the land. Lend us a hand to help to build a more resilient landscape.
On this residential camp you will experience the process of planting a tree, from its arrival at site, understanding its care and finally, protecting it from the elements and predation. Across four days you’ll join nature recovery in action and develop skills in…
This experience is for anyone either wanting a practical week on the land or eager to learn about tree planting to support nature recovery. This might be a new world to you but we will guide you through every step and explain every task.
The camp will be very physically active and involve activities such as; digging, hammering, carrying heavy loads, working on steep ground. A good level of physical fitness and mobility is required.
Your experience will be facilitated by key members of the Ambios team, who will hold the space and offer onward signposting to support you in your own journey to nature recovery. Whereas your experience will be shared with others, it will be unique to you
You will be live and work alongside your fellow tree planters during your stay with Ambios. The site sits among the trees with spectacular views of the River Dart and the idyllic surrounding countryside.

You’ll be staying in a single room in a bunkhouse, enjoying your meals and evenings in our new adjoining communal dayroom space which has a shared kitchen with a comfortable living area and log burner.
