Course overview - what to expect

The Woodcrafters Facilitator Training equips participants with the skills, understanding, and confidence to
deliver safe, inclusive and meaningful woodcraft sessions in their own communities. Combining online
learning, hands-on training and mentored practice, this professional development course provides a solid
foundation in facilitation, safety, and reflective practice. It is particularly geared towards delivering
woodcraft to vulnerable children, adults and marginalised groups.

Who's it for?

This training is designed for anyone who wants to bring the creative, grounding and community-building benefits of woodcraft into their own setting. Whether you work in education, mental health, community engagement or outdoor learning, the course provides the practical skills and facilitation tools to weave woodcraft for wellbeing into your work with children, young people or adults.

Certification

Graduates who complete all three stages receive a Woodcrafters Facilitator Certificate, recognising competence in delivering safe, inclusive woodcraft sessions that foster creativity, connection, and community wellbeing. This is a non-accredited professional development course designed to meet emerging standards for arts and nature-based wellbeing facilitation.

What is Woodcraft for Wellbeing?

Woodcraft for Wellbeing combines the therapeutic elements of traditional green woodcarving with the restorative power of nature connection. Working slowly and mindfully with natural materials creates space for focus, calm, and creativity — helping people reconnect with themselves, with others, and with the natural world.
Every workshop offers time, tools, and guidance to make something useful and beautiful by hand, but the real craft is in the sense of belonging, confidence and connection it builds. Participants consistently report feeling more relaxed, focused, and optimistic after just one session.
