Restoring Nature Literary Festival at Lower Sharpham Farm

Join Ambios and The East Gate Bookshop on Saturday 18th May at Lower Sharpham Farm for a one-day family-friendly literary festival. Discover how rewilding and regenerative farming practices are restoring nature: improving food security, reducing the use of chemicals, rebuilding soil fertility, employing more people on the land, and creating places that benefit us all. There will be talks, walks, books, authors, discussions, live music, a fully licensed bar and delicious locally sourced food.

This year we welcome four fantastic guest authors, Derek Gow, Fiona Matthews and Tim Kendall, Chantal Lyons and Sophie Yeo. Previous guest authors have included Wainwright prize winners, Guy Shrubsole and Amy-Jane Beer, rewilding maverick Derek Gow, and British journalist, author, and environmental activist George Monbiot. All ages are welcome, and dogs are welcome too. We ask all dog owners to keep their four-legged friends on a lead close by to reduce disturbance to wildlife & other festival goers.

We are Ambios

Our employer-endorsed training team is able to share over 20 years of experience with our trainees by providing traineeships, volunteering opportunities and practical education in nature conservation. Breaking into a career in nature often requires practical skills and lived experiences – yet gaining these can be very difficult.

Our residential, real world, experiential traineeships provide practical skills alongside theoretical learning. We’re able to do this as a learning community within our working farm in the beautiful River Dart Valley, South Devon.

We actively work to reprioritise the value of nature, encouraging an abundance of wildlife habitats and restoring ecosystems.
