Lemur+ Placements

Bursaries leading to careers in nature

The Lemur+ project is part-funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and run by Ambios Ltd in partnership with a range of environmental conservation organisations. Lemur+ projects have been running for over 20 years with the aim of training, mentoring and supporting people who want to work with nature. Over 100 Lemurs have passed through the programme with over 85% going onto jobs within the nature conservation sector. We are keen to support those who are currently under-represented in the nature conservation sector, including ethnic minorities, the long-term unemployed, women returning from work and those with learning disabilities and we encourage applications from these groups.

Each Lemur Project is different but typically they consist of a 4-9 month bursary providing a mixture of nature conservation skills training and real work placements with a range of wildlife organisations. Those who successfully complete the course receive vocational qualifications in species/habitat identification, field survey, heritage interpretation and information technology. For details of our current Lemur+ bursary placements please view our Training Calendar. Further details can also be found at the Lemur+ website.
