SPEA - Tyto Tagus project - Tagus Estuary, Portugal
The project will send one cohort of two volunteers out to SPEA in Portugal for a 9-week placement during 2011

SPEA
Since 1999, SPEA has been the BirdLife International representative in Portugal. Co-operation with this organisation has played an important part in the consolidation of the Society, reinforcing its conservation work, and consequently facilitating its involvement in international activities, with increased access to resources.

Themes: Radio tracking surveys of Barn Owls, owl census by spotlight car transects in the Tagus Estuary, monitoring road kills and collecting owl carcasses for analysis, inputting data into a computer, collecting and analysing owl pellets, maintaining the educational farm, participating in activities of environmental education and publicity.
