Training opportunities with Ambios and Sharpham Outdoors

The Sharpham TrustAmbios have teamed up with the Sharpham Trust in an exciting partnership that looks to develop the Sharpham Outdoors program.

Sharpham Outdoors is the outdoor education and access arm of the Sharpham Trust and our partnership will be extending learning opportunities through teaching, training and volunteering for groups, schools and individuals and via adult and community learning initiatives in for example nature conservation, ecology, and heritage and environmental education.

We currently offer subsidised training courses for wildlife professionals, graduates looking to increase their skills for a way into employment in the environmental sector or even individuals looking to broaden their horizons and looking for a taster to see if it is for them. The course basics involve Mammal Tracks and Signs, European Protected Species, Wildlife and the Law, Beginners Botany, and an introduction to QGIS and Geographic Mapping in Conservation.

EcoTrain

EcoTrainThis innovative project has been developed between Ambios and several partner organisations in Europe. It offers volunteers the chance to join a small team of like-minded people and gain a European perspective of ecology and environmental conservation projects in Spain, Hungary and Poland. We are now recruiting participants for our funded 2010 placements.

The project is funded under The Leonardo da Vinci programme which is part of the European Commission’s Lifelong Learning Programme. Leonardo Mobility funds overseas placements with the objective of improving Vocational Education and Training across Europe.
