LEMUR+ Wildlife.Technology.Skills

lemurplusThe LEMUR+ project has now closed and there is an evaluation video which you can see here. The project ran for 3 years (2014-2017) with financial assistance from Skills for the Future at the Heritage Lottery Fund.  Thanks to Lottery support the project was able to combine real work experience of nature conservation organisations with training that included the use of technology.  Certification for each participant prepared and propelled trainees towards employment in the nature conservation / biodiversity management sector or prepared them with transferable skills to work in any job (taking with them an environmental awareness).  You can see an infographic illustrating all the results here and the final evaluation report here.

The Lemur+ Offering

Over 120 LEMURs have gone through our programme and 90%+ have gone on to jobs within the nature conservation sector.  The project design comes from a successful history dating back more than 20 years.

The LEMUR+ project provided:

4 month and 9 month training bursaries (which paid a living allowance) + external training grant + intensive local training all supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund and hosted at organisations such as The Marine Biological Association, Plymouth, Torbay Coast and Countryside Trust, Torquay, Herefordshire Wildlife Trust in Hereford and South East Wales Biodiversity Records Centre in Cardiff and others.
