SHORT PROGRAMME: 2 week BIRDS related mobilities

Choose from one of our three birds related mobilities in Europe

The Barn Owl Foundation (HUNGARY)

  • Dates:
    • Cohort 1: 4th – 20th June 2019
    • Cohort 2: 13th – 29th August 2019
  • Barn Owl, raptor and other bird surveys
  • Investigating and recording local plant communities and habitats
  • Habitat and species protection practical works
  • English speaking public engagement alongside live owls

Ambios PT (PORTUGAL)

  • Dates:
    • Cohort 1: 15th – 29th June 2019
    • Cohort 2: 7th – 21st September 2019
  • Barn Owl surveys
  • Mediterranean forest and local river system plant and animal surveys
  • Building the herbarium (a collection of preserved plant species for reference)
  • Invertebrate sampling surveys / Bat transect surveys / Trail camera monitoring
  • English speaking and school engagement

Centro Italiano Studi per la Conservazione e l’Ambiente (ITALY)

  • Dates: 23rd March to 6th April 2019
  • Intensive bird ringing of local and migrant species on Ponza Island
  • English speaking school/public engagement activities
  • In depth introduction to bird ringing
  • Ideal preparation for becoming a licensed trainee with the BTO (British Trust for Ornithology)

How much will it cost?

All mobility elements are funded by ERASMUS+.

TOTAL VALUE: £2,700 (£1750 funded by ERASMUS+ and Ambios Ltd)

YOU PAY: £950

These costs DO include:

  • All learning and tutor support, and recognition of acquired skills
  • All accommodation and food in the UK and during the mobility of your choice
  • All transport (train or flights) and onward travel to and from UK to EU host
  • Personal travel insurance for the EU mobility
  • Pastoral support

These costs DO NOT include:

  • Travel to/from UK residential or to/from point of departure in UK for your EU mobility.
  • Personal spending money whilst in UK or EU

Applications for our 3 week short programmes are now live. To apply, please fill out the online application form here.We have also provided a Word document of the application here. If you fill this out, please ensure that you copy the information over to the online application form before submitting. Applications accepted immediately, 20% of places already taken, apply now and hear back within 3 working days. Final application deadline is Friday 14th December 2018.
