| In Project Parlama we
undertake basic research for three reasons: 1. To provide a sound, scientific/social/economic basis for decision making in managing natural resources. 2. To advance (at both the regional and international level) fundamental understanding of the biology/ecology underlying conservation issues. 3. To stimulate interest, curiosity and involvement of both those working within our projects (volunteers) and the communities with whom we work. |
En El
Proyecto Parlama emprendimos investigación por tres razones: 1. A proveer una base fija científica/social/económica para utilizar en tomar decisiones en el manejo de recursos naturales. 2. Adelantar (en el nivel regional e internacional) el conocimiento fundamental de la biología/ecología que es la base de los asuntos conservacionistas. 3. A estimular interés, curiosidad y envolvimiento ambos de la gente trabajando dentro de nuestros proyectos (los voluntarios) y las comunidades con que trabajamos. |

We currently have three research projects running (in addition to beach crawl and hatchery output monitoring) : Temperatures in natural beach nests The role of sound as a cue used by nesting turtles Beach morphology and grain-size (habitat) as controls of nesting behaviour. |
