Como Ofrecerse como Voluntario en nuestros Proyectos

1. Contact the Guatemala NGO ARCAS  directly and make arrangements with them. You will be offered accommodation at the Hawaii field site, on a weekly basis. If you wish you can ask Ambios to act as an intermediary (this is probably best if you have little experience of travelling in the developing world, do not speak Spanish, or have a particular scientific theme you wish to get involved in). Whilst we cannot arrange your trip, nor take any responsibility for your stay (you will work directly with the local NGO), we can offer much help and advice.

1. Contactarse directamente con la ONG Guatemalteca ARCAS y arreglar su visita con ellos. ARCAS ofrece acomodación por semana en el sitio de campo del Parque Hawai. Se puede pedir a Ambios que sea un intermediario (probablemente lo mejor si tiene poca experiencia de viajar en Latino América o si tiene un tema científico especifico que quiera desarrollar). Aunque no podemos arreglar su viaje ni tener responsabilidad por su visita (trabajara directamente con la ONG local), podemos compartir mucha ayuda y consejo.  

Una idea del costo:  El vuelo mas barato ~ €900; seguro ~€225; alimentación y acomodación por semana €75

2. Ambios accepts applications from European citizens aged 20 -25 who are interested in volunteering as part of the European Voluntary Service (EVS) programme. Ambios is a SENDING ORGANISATION for this programme and ARCAS and other local organisations in Central America are HOST ORGANISATIONS. Each year we can apply for two EVS placements per host organisation, each lasting for six months (July through January - the turtle nesting season). The EVS award will cover all of your basic costs - return airfare, accommodation, travel insurance and Spanish tuition (where necessary).

Applications and interviews have to be processed by Ambios during December and January each year before they are submitted (through Ambios) to the EVS to meet their 1st February deadline.

2.   Si tiene 20-25 años y es un ciudadano de la Unión Europea se puede aplicar a Ambios para financiación por el Servicio Voluntario Europeo (SVE). Ambios es una ORGANIZACION DE ENVIO y ARCAS y otras organizaciones locales en Centroamérica son ORGANIZACIONES DE ACOGIDA. Cada año podemos aplicar para dos puestos voluntarios por organización de acogida; los puestos duran seis meses, julio hasta enero (la epoca de nidación de las tortugas). La beca cubre todos sus gastos básicos – viaje de ida y vuelta, acomodación, alimentación, seguro y apoyo lingüístico (donde sea necesario).

Aplicaciones y entrevistas estan procesadas por Ambios durante los meses de diciembre y enero cada año, para cumplir con la fecha tope del SVE por el primer día de febrero.  Por favor enviarnos un correo electrónico si tiene preguntas específicas sobre el programa, o si quiere estar considerado como un voluntario con el apoyo del SVE (enviarnos su CV o una carta sobre si mismo si es posible).
